A function venue in Greyton a little town 140kms outside of Cape Town, erupted in celebration like never before.
We were invited to provide Sound and Lighting and Karaoke DJ services for a birthday party held at Searle’s Trading Post, an upmarket country wedding and function venue in the main street of this quaint little Overberg mountain village.
It was a fancy dress party and the guests kitted themselves out as characters from Alice In Wonderland. Even the décor at the venue was representative of the chosen theme.
As guests arrived the excitement of the evening ahead was imminent while background music set the tone for a night of disco dancing to come.
Two separate areas at the venue were set aside for entertainment.
Our main sound system was set up on a stage adjacent to the open air dining area and once the sun went down it wasn’t long before revellers were lured in to dance the night away to the sounds of the greatest party hits. Along with a powerful disco lighting display an unparalleled atmosphere of excitement was created that had almost every guest showing off their dance moves.
We also set up a karaoke sound system in the theatre room along with a big screen and projector for guests who fancied themselves as singers.
By then the mood was set and the real party animals didn’t require a lot of convincing to get up and try a karaoke song or two.
Needless to say celebrations went on long after midnight and an absolute blast was had by all, along with the customary Sunday morning hangover but it was so worth it.
If you are looking for a function venue off the beaten track just outside of Cape Town, Searle’s Trading Post is the jewel of Greyton.
